Thoughts on Housecleaning

Cleaning the house is hard work.

And sometimes we just don’t want to do it

because, in the back of our minds, we know

there will be some stuff that we NEED to get rid of, and we WILL NOT WANT TO.  Things we have held onto for years, collecting dust, not serving any purpose-mostly from our past, or the, fairly, recent “I know I shouldn’t have, but I did it any way” phase.

And it’s the same in our lives.  God will, eventually, tell us to do some HOUSE CLEANING and it won’t be easy.  Mostly because, the house cleaning will consist of people being taken out of our lives-the ones who hold us back from God’s best.  And if we are, truly, honest with ourselves, we will realize that OUR FATHER will never tell us to do something that isn’t good for us.

It’s all about getting closer to HIM.  We can’t get closer, if there are things in our lives that keep us from HIM.  But HE’LL never force us.  Ultimately, the choice is always ours to make.  To clean, or not to clean? And if I clean, how much.

Why this post? I’m not, entirely, sure-but the LORD knows why and HE, also, knows who.  And the beauty of it is, even if this was meant for one person, it needed to be posted.  HE loves us that much, to go “out of HIS way”, it seems, for one.
