My 4 favorite people that were ever in my life-MY GRANDPARENTS. I was the first born granddaughter to my G&G Smith, and the only granddaughter to my G&G Romero. SPOILED, but not with things. LOVE-they loved me dearly. How different life is, since they are not here to share it with me.
When I look back on my childhood, my favorite memories are of my grandparents. In school, after coming back from Christmas or Easter breaks, listening to most of my classmates say that they went to another state to visit their grandparents, I would think how wonderful it was that I was able to see mine anytime I wanted because we all lived so close to each other. Even after my Grandma & Grandpa Smith moved out to Yucca Valley, CA when I was 10, we still saw them every other weekend. And my G&G Romero never lived more than 10-15 minutes away from us.
From the ages 7-9, I can, vividly, remember falling asleep listening to my Grandma Romero praying.
And I can’t count how many times as a little girl my grandpa Romero(I’ll let you figure out which one he is) would bee-bop around the living room, singing some big band tune, and take me by the hand and dance with me. Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basey were their favorites! Last night when I heard “Warm Valley” (thank you “my boo” for telling me about that radio show), I was IMMEDIATELY transported. Has that ever happened to you? So, today I wanted to pay tribute to the 4 people God used to love me.
