My 4 favorite people that were ever in my life-MY GRANDPARENTS. I was the first born granddaughter to my G&G Smith, and the only granddaughter to my G&G Romero. SPOILED, but not with things. LOVE-they loved me dearly. How different life is, since they are not here to share it with me.
When I look back on my childhood, my favorite memories are of my grandparents. In school, after coming back from Christmas or Easter breaks, listening to most of my classmates say that they went to another state to visit their grandparents, I would think how wonderful it was that I was able to see mine anytime I wanted because we all lived so close to each other. Even after my Grandma & Grandpa Smith moved out to Yucca Valley, CA when I was 10, we still saw them every other weekend. And my G&G Romero never lived more than 10-15 minutes away from us.
From the ages 7-9, I can, vividly, remember falling asleep listening to my Grandma Romero praying.
And I can’t count how many times as a little girl my grandpa Romero(I’ll let you figure out which one he is) would bee-bop around the living room, singing some big band tune, and take me by the hand and dance with me. Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basey were their favorites! Last night when I heard “Warm Valley” (thank you “my boo” for telling me about that radio show), I was IMMEDIATELY transported. Has that ever happened to you? So, today I wanted to pay tribute to the 4 people God used to love me.
Enjoy the song
I don’t care how old-she is still my little girl. She reminds me so much of myself when I was her age. And all four of my kids have their own special ways of making me laugh. Last night was no exception. Hope you guys enjoy it
My daughter’s randomness last night
The past few months, in pictures
My youngest, and the rest of her school choir, had an amazing experience performing in the Disneyland Christmas presentation
New Year’s Eve: my party animal crashed, LOL
Vacation in San Diego, with an amazing person-God’s blessed me with him.
I absolutely LOVE Pine Ave., Downtown L.B.
Have you ever met, or know, someone who loves to TAKE pictures, but hates having a picture taken of THEM?!
Goofing off, after school Christmas performance-always laughing!
First time I sat in the front seat, while she drove-my life, actually, DID NOT flash before my eyes, LOL
(The only chains a Christian should have are prayer chains)
“…and having done all to stand…”
Standing in the gap for this precious soul
because she needs it
She’s trying to fight things under her own power
that can only be fought through HIS POWER
Loosing the strength to smile, laugh,
feeling like she is going crazy and feeling alone;
She’s forgotten the TREASURE which lies within her
and has walked away from it.
BY, IN, WITH FAITH,
and I dedicate this song to my Princess
Here I am
Hey guys! Hope all of you had a wonderful weekend with friends and/or family-we certainly did. Our church had a beach/bonfire, and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be in attendance, but decided to go. (the self-image issues we women go through at times-GRRR) So glad I went. It was a nice relaxed vibe, and I enjoyed getting to know everyone a little better. Although only my 2 younger kids went, I still had a blast watching them goof-off and be carefree. Not to mention praise and worship at the beach! Home-away-from-home for me Just makes me long for Heaven that much more.
The following photos of the sunset do not do it justice at all. It was gorgeous!
Kerry and Steph
Can’t believe it’s so much time has gone by. Soon they will be 20 and 21, but it
as if they were just born!
We’ve been through so much as a family, and individually,
and it hasn’t always been easy,
yet, despite the difficulties, I am so very proud of these 2 people
God gave me.
If I had to do it all over again, I would,
if it meant having the same wonderful memories,
the same beautiful experiences, and the same tough ones.
Though they are not twins, they couldn’t be any closer.
Sure, there are the arguments, and “attitudes”,
but we all have them from time to time.
But through it all, they have made me smile, and laugh,
in their own unique way.
I’m so blessed.
