Hold On…
Inspired by a post I just finished reading, ”Keep On Prayin’!”, I was reminded about a message I heard Oral Roberts preach years ago concerning prayer, especially for others, entitled, “Hold on to the Rope”; about the Apostle Paul, a few men helped him escape a certain city because his life was in danger. He was lowered over the wall of the city, and a few men held the rope to lower him. And I clearly remember, sitting in my seat listening to this sermon, and hearing him say, “What if the guys said ‘we’re tired, let’s go’, and they let go of the rope, not knowing if Paul had made it to the bottom or not?”
We may get tired or sometimes forget to pray the way we said we would. Maybe we say a quick one on the spot, then put the situation aside because “we have our own things to be worrying about”, right??? And there are some who say “I’ll keep that in prayer with you”, but never follow through with it. We may not see the end of a situation the way we would like to, but that doesn’t mean we should stop praying. Intercession is powerful. There’s something about getting your focus off your own struggles and situations, and praying for others with the same need. It’s as if you’re sowing a seed of “answered prayer”, into your own situation. I’ve seen it happen in my family, heard others testimonies about it time and time again.
