One of the Hardest Things

window21

Sometimes, the hardest person to forgive is yourself.  Knowing that you can’t go back and undo what you did, makes more difficult.  Forgiving yourself means admitting that hard truth to yourself, but then there has to come a time when you let it go, and stop beating yourself up.  Yes, the video taped reruns will replay in your mind from time to time, but that doesn’t mean you have to start the self-destructive thoughts.  For me, it was, and still IS, a learning process.  I used to think that by not forgiving myself was the way I could prove my remorse.  How wrong that train of thought is!  If you don’t forgive yourself, how can you ever move on and have a healthy spirit?  And if OUR SAVIOR forgives you, who are you not to?

The past can be painful to deal with, but not dealing with it only holds you in bondage; that’s not “life more abundantly”; that’s not freedom. Forgiving yourself is just as important, as forgiving someone else. And when you do, you’ll be on the road to loving yourself-how good is that?!

Hold On…

Inspired by a post I just finished reading, ”Keep On Prayin’!”,  I was reminded about a message I heard Oral Roberts preach years ago concerning prayer, especially for others, entitled, “Hold on to the Rope”; about the Apostle Paul, a few men helped him escape a certain city because his life was in danger. He was lowered over the wall of the city, and a few men held the rope to lower him. And I clearly remember, sitting in my seat listening to this sermon, and hearing him say, “What if the guys said ‘we’re tired, let’s go’, and they let go of the rope, not knowing if Paul had made it to the bottom or not?”

prayer…

We may get tired or sometimes forget to pray the way we said we would. Maybe we say a quick one on the spot, then put the situation aside because “we have our own things to be worrying about”, right??? And there are some who say “I’ll keep that in prayer with you”, but never follow through with it. We may not see the end of a situation the way we would like to, but that doesn’t mean we should stop praying. Intercession is powerful. There’s something about getting your focus off your own struggles and situations, and praying for others with the same need. It’s as if you’re sowing a seed of “answered prayer”, into your own situation.  I’ve seen it happen in my family, heard others testimonies about it time and time again.

Prayer works, when you know who to pray to :)

Very simply put…

Romans 14:1  Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don't see things the way you do. And don't jump all over them every time they do or say something you don't agree with-even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department. Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. (The Message) It is important to remember that each person has their own story. We each are uniquely crafted by God t … Read More
