LIGHTHOUSE

Lighthouse: (n) a fixed structure in the form of a tower equipped with a light visible to mariners for warning them of obstructions, for marking harbour entrances, etc.

I’m thinking of another LIGHTHOUSE

THE ONE whose LIGHT is always there

showing us the way to go,

shedding light on obstacles in our path.

The LIGHTHOUSE whose LIGHT gives us

the purest LOVE we have ever known

The LIGHTHOUSE who, at times,

gets ignored because we would rather do

our own navigating.

How many times have our ships gone off course,

only to find ourselves shipwrecked and completely lost?

Yet we continue to ignore the SOUND and the LIGHT

The LIGHTHOUSE gives.

When will we ever learn…

  1. Beautiful poem…
The image of the lighthouse reminds me of Shakespeare´s sonnet 116:
    “Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no; it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests, and is never shaken”.
Sending all my best wishes. Aquileana 😀

  2. love the pic for this post. always seeking the brightest light to guide my way and know that within – it shines, too. I often pray that others know the light is always on, we just have to look.
