Too Sentimental For My Own Good

From the days of helping you put on your armor – making sure you never forgot a piece

To watching you from the stands now and sometimes seeing you forget a piece, or two

With baited breath, I’ve seen you struggle, stumble and sometimes fall

Not allowed to take your hits anymore, so it’s on HIS NAME I call

From the stands I’m watching you – arms outstretched and head bowed in prayer

No longer taking the hits for you, but supporting and cheering-so you know that I’m there
