A Letter To Kim Burrell

Speaking Against Your Sin Is NOT Hate Speech!

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also…But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. ~ John 15:20-24

Dear Kim Burrell,

Don’t worry, Kim, the truth is always offensive to those who don’t follow Jesus in the first place. I’m right there with you.  I’m sorry if any Christians got on your case for speaking the truth about sin.  Does it sadden you as much as it does me that people who claim to follow Jesus will want to dummy down the Word of God?

It irks me to no end!

Further more, it ticks me off that we 100%, completely-sold-out-to-Jesus Christians get persecuted for being who we are and expressing ourselves, and expected to not say a word when others around us want to be who they are!  Really?!  That’s more than a little hypocritical don’t you think?

Well, Kim, I appreciate the fact that you’re not afraid to speak God’s truth!
